One of Hollywood newest teenage actors, Thomas Kasp, hardly ever watches television, but when he does his favorite shows are such nostalgic classics as Three’s Company, The Carol Burnett Show and The Andy Griffith Show “My parents want me to read books and not spend my time watching television or on the computer…. they want me get good grades in school and one day I hope I will be very good actor,” says Thomas, who moved to Hollywood with his family recently from his native Chicago to prepare for a career as an entertainer.
“John Ritter and Don Knotts are the funniest…. they are so cool and awesome,” said Thomas. He also especially admires Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise.
Bi-lingual young Thomas (he is fluent in Polish) is already getting the attention of some of the industry’s top producers and casting agents who have sent him out for teenage roles in movies, television and commercials. He has also done print modeling as well.
He has some special advice for other young people his age that may be thinking about coming to Hollywood to prepare for an entertainer’s career. “Be ready for lots of hard work, a lot to learn, be patient, and above all be persistent and not afraid of rejection.”
Like many young actors, Thomas is getting his education both at school and also at home where he is “home schooled.” This well-known program for young aspiring actor kids allows him to go out on auditions and casting calls on a few hours notice. “I think going to school like this actually helps me learn more and learn better,” he said. When not studying his schoolwork, Thomas works with his acting teachers (he studies with Kris Kyer, Stanzi Stokes) and coaches studying commercial technique, dialects, acting, singing and dancing. He also has a personal manager and an agent too.
His credits include the popular teen series Real Life 101, the independent film Entropy and Autumn in Warsaw, for Polish television. He played a role in a production of Elmer Rice’s Street Scene. He has also guested on numerous syndicated radio shows.
Thomas’ favorite musical artists are Green Day and Bowling for Soup, and his favorite movies, Noises Off (with Ritter) Lord of the Rings and Gladiator. He has traveled with his family over the USA as well as the Caribbean and Europe, especially Poland where his parents are from
Blonde, blue-eyed Thomas was born in Chicago, the son of Thomas and Iwona Kasp. He has two brothers and two sisters. He also enjoys skiing, swimming, roller blading, cycling, hockey, and spending time with his pet Chihuahua and his cat. His birthday is December 20th.
